Why Enroll in PAT?
Kids do not come with directions.
Parents as Teachers can help.
During the years between birth and kindergarten, there are
important times when specific kinds of learning - language,
social, intellectual, and motor skills - must take place for
your child to develop to their fullest potential. Parents as
Teachers (PAT), a parent education and family support
program, can help you capture those "windows of
opportunity" so your child starts school ready to succeed.
It's free for all parents and participation is voluntary.

Benefits of PAT:
In the first few years, children learn
more and at a faster pace than at any

child development
- Increase your parenting skills
- Gain knowledge of the nutritional
needs of your infant or child
- Increase your understanding of
child safety
- Increase your knowledge of
preventive health care
PAT Families Receive:
Personal Visits:
Through monthly visits, a Parent Educator will help
you understand what to expect as your child grows
and develops
Group Meetings:
Allow you to meet once a month with other parents to
share experiences and ideas about parenting.
Periodic Screenings:
Help assess your child's overall development as well
as health, hearing, and vision.
Community Resource Network:
Parent Educators may link your family with a wide
variety of community resources, which may benefit
you and your family.
