CURRENT OPENINGS:

Lead Teacher Opening in YWCA Early Care and Education Center Universal Pre Kindergarten program

• Requirements:
- NYS Teaching Certification Birth –Grade 2. 
- Or / In an education plan leading to NYS Teaching Certification within 2 years after commencing employment or by June 30th, 2018
- Experience in classroom management 
- Supervision experience 
- Reliable transportation
- Understanding of Creative Curriculum, and ability to modify as needed

• Responsibilities::
- Implement the program as set with Jamestown Public Schools, Universal Prekindergarten requirements
- Establish and maintain an environment fostering healthy relationships among staff, volunteers, and children
- Follows all ECE policies
- Follows all NYS Office of Children and Family Services regulations
- Attends all trainings and meetings as established by ECE and JPS
- Addresses all problems, concerns, etc. with the Program Director (ECE Director), and in a timely manner
- Develop monthly, weekly and daily lesson plans as approved by Director and JPS requirements
- Establish and follow a predictable daily routine that provides security for all children
- Observe and record the development of childr4en
- Complete all mandatory YWCA and NYS OCFS paperwork and keep up to date on necessary trainings
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all children and families
- Maintain up to date records on attendance, meal counts, child daily reports, daily health checks, child progress notes and accident reports as well as all other appropriate records
- To plan and coordinate all activities and adults working with the group
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, conferences
- To ensure strong communication with parents, staff members, and all children in the center
- Serve as a dedicated, professional role model for staff and parents at all times
- Immediately report all suspected abuse and neglect to the Program director
- Adhere to all YWCA and child care policies and regulations
- Recommends purchase of materials for classroom to ECE Director
- Adheres to YWCA Standards of Performance

Program Leaders


YWCA Jamestown has openings for Program Leaders in our elementary and middle after school programs.  Responsibilities include leading enrichment activities with children between the ages 6-13.  Training will be provided for lesson plan and writing implementation, classroom management and child development.  The successful candidate will have experience implementing a variety of activities with children; will be energetic, patient and reliable.  Associates Degree in Child Development, Recreation or related field is preferred but will consider High School Diploma/GED with two years experience working with children under the age of 13.
